Last weekend was lazy and positively glorious. I am the type of person, as my husband will attest, who tries to cram as many tasks/projects/errands into a weekend as possible. But this weekend. We. Had. No. Plans. So I made Snail Girl. My first draft Beanie has coveted and named Brenda.
Beanie helped design her too. Originally the eyes were going to look like this but she opted for the eyes below. Beanie also picked out the lovely 60's bouffant hairdo modeled after John Travolta's character in Hairspray. Ha! I still think she needs a few changes: bigger body, some arms, antennae?
Thank you for all your suggestions on how to design her! I do think yarn hair would be nice but I don't know how to do it. If any of you know of any good tutorials let me know...
So after a few hours sewing inside (in my CLEAN craft room) I felt a bit guilty not taking advantage of the sunshine outside-- it was 60 degrees!!! It was so wonderful! The nursery was packed and everyone was smiling, happily packing trays of primroses or lettuce starts into their cars. So we puttered around outside and got the beds ready to plant.
I feel for you guys who are getting so much snow right now!
