Had a wonderful weekend in Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. You're not supposed to take any photographs of the stage and, as we learned, you are actually asked to delete any photos you may have taken of the stage. So the above photograph I borrowed from David Cooper which was found in this very informative article on Ashland and the Shakespeare Festival.
We saw The Merchant Of Venice, which I had never seen before. It was brilliant.
Before the plays they have free shows in the theatre courtyard. This time they featured a Japanese drumming group from Eugene. We were in the back so I couldn't see their name but they were awesome.
I love Ashland because there is art and sculpture everywhere.
Do you like Shakespeare? I had to read a few plays in high school but it was like pulling teeth. Now, for some reason, I have a new appreciation. Of course it helps to have glass of wine, gorgeous 75 degree weather and an outdoor stage like this. Yeah, I can do Shakespeare.
