Inching Closer

It is finally getting warm and dry enough to get things planted. So far the onions, carrots, kale, broccoli and cabbage are in.  I don't know much about growing broccoli...it may be too late in the season but we shall see...

It turns out that I am not very speedy at digging up sod. Thankfully my husband was tired of hearing me whine about it so he finished the job for me. I'm trying out milk jug green houses for the first time too.  I've become very attached to my little seedlings and I don't want them to freeze.

 

I have plenty to do...

Harder Than It Looks

I had an idea...

I'll make some cookies in celebration of my brother's new BBQ restaurant! His logo is a flying pig... 

Easy idea right? Buy a cookie cutter, some meringue powder, some icing tips. I found this website and it had everything I needed to know about cookie decorating.

Beware, that website is overwhelming-- people are making cookies into pieces of art. But it is not as easy as it looks! And it is more messy and time-consuming than I thought it would be. 

But the end result was pretty okay. Look away if you are easily offended by vulgar, obnoxious BBQ language...

Not Worth The Panic

Remember this scene from Castaway?  Well that was me this weekend:  "LOOK WHAT I HAVE CREATED!"

I made a blanket. I don't think I can call this a quilt technically since I didn't bind it. But I did piece it...sort of straight....and I did quilt it and all.  I used a 1/4 inch foot which helped but I still have problems keeping the whole dang thing straight. Know any tricks?

I used Punctuation Fabric by Moda. And yes, my neighbor hangs plastic bats in his tree.
