Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Utah was a breath of fresh air compared to Vegas. We determined that while mocking people in Vegas was entertaining,we really preferred Utah.
The rain that greeted us meant daily rainbows, at least for awhile. Even a double rainbow which I am sure meant double good luck was to be had.
Behold Zion National Park. My photos just can't do it justice!
It was gorgeous and peaceful despite the many tourists. One nice thing is the park lets in only a few cars because they offer a shuttle service. After going to Yellowstone and dodging RVs and hundreds of cars, we were thrilled with this rule at Zion.
Next stop: Kolob Canyon. It rained a ton before these pictures were taken which really made the colors look nice and deep.
Then we went to Cedar Breaks National Monument right at sunset which was so gorgeous!
Then we made our way to Bryce Canyon which looks like you're on another planet.
And then realized we had to hike back out again because there was going to be no helicopter pick up.
These are all the switchbacks coming up out of the canyon.
Yes, those tiny specs at the bottom are crazy tourists who think they are in shape. Those people at the top and about ready to go into cardiac arrest.
This guy had a nice gig going at one of the scenic overlooks. He had people feeding him left and right because he would come right up to you.
But I kept envisioning scenes from Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds... Too close for me!
And this is the cutest photo I have ever taken of the cutest baby deer ever.
We met my mom at the tail end of our trip and visited Hoover Dam together.
So there you have it. We highly recommend southern Utah's national parks. And we're already planning to go back and check out Moab, Arches National Park, and Canyonlands.
So have you been anywhere interesting this summer?
