Another year is winding down. And this post makes me appreciate all my friends in blog land- thanks to you I always have great ideas for projects at the click of a mouse. I have enjoyed seeing what you all have created, grown and cooked over the years. You help me keep the creative juices flowing- whether I need a good book suggestion or a a recipe- I always know where to go.
So here's to another creative year!
This material is quite a bit softer than linoleum so it is easier to carve but harder to get a nice sharp line. I think I prefer linoleum...

And a print of St. Francis of Assisi for Bert's birthday coming up.
What I like is the challenge: once you carve a spot it's gone and you can't get it back and if you mess up you might not be able to fix it. Ah, the danger, the suspense! And it's a great distraction from doing housework. This and the Australian Open are responsible for my complete lack of motivation to cook or clean and for my inability to find room at my kitchen table for us to eat at. Oh well!
